Meet Chad Glass

What attracted you to the horse racing industry?

I was attracted to horse racing at an early age when I started going to the track with my grandfather. As I grew older, the excitement of race day grew stronger.

What aspect of horse racing do you enjoy the most?

For several years now, I have followed the prep races leading up to the Kentucky Derby. After that, I start focusing on the second season leading into Breeder’s Cup. You start seeing lots of really good races throughout the Summer and Fall.

Why did you join the Wasabi Ventures Co-Owner Club?

I joined WVS Co-owner club to learn more about the ownership aspect of horse racing. There are many opportunities to get involved with claimers and most recently the breeding programs. Finally, I thought I would meet other folks who share my interest in horse racing.

Who is your favorite horse?

My favorite horse is California Chrome. He was a really good horse who enjoyed a terrific racing career and ran in all of the big races worldwide, winning many of the big ones.

What issues in the industry would you like to see addressed?

Horse health is very important. I would like to see younger horses start off their careers without medication. I think it may cause a horse to breakdown sooner. Thoroughbreds are so magnificent, but their long-term health is important for productive second careers.

What is the most exciting part of being an ambassador?

Being an Ambassador for WVS is really a lot of fun. I like seeing club members get together to see WVS horses run and just enjoying a day at the track. I have met some great people and I have also learned a lot from them about what they know about the industry, their stories, and some new handicapping methods. I would like to thank TK and Michele for allowing me the opportunity to represent WVS. I am looking forward to the summer at Laurel Park and Timonium.
