Peyton Place- Update 17

Submitted by Alyssa Kelly Peyton completed his last major horse show before our trip to the Retired Racehorse Project Makeover! We competed at the St. Augustine Pony Club Summerfest Horse Trials. The dressage phase of the event was an improvement from last, scoring a 34.2. In the show jumping phase we only knocked one rail down. We have some homework to do in the cross country phase but ended the show with 7th place. I am very proud of our improvement from the Springfest horse trial and hope to continue improving. Submitted by Alyssa Kelly We are coming up on 6 months of training for Peyton! This month we were able to take a few field trips. Our first adventure was to Fair Hill, Maryland, for some trail riding through the woods, over a few bridges, and through some water. Peyton is a rockstar going to new places including self-loading onto the trailer. We were also able to travel to St. Augustine Pony Club for our first cross country schooling. Jerry- Update 1

Jerry, formerly known as My Pal Jerry, has a new home and is working on a second career. In October 2018 our stable decided it was time for his racing career to end, and he was retired via Beyond the Wire. They placed him with Akindale Thoroughbred Rescue, where he began his transition to off track life. This January, Jerry was moved to his new home, South Carolina. In the care of Heather Armstrong, he has made progress in his new career as a dressage horse. Jerry walks, trots, and canters. He also gets both leads "super easy," according to…

Kind of a Big Dill- Update 3

Kind Of A Big Dill (formerly known as Vineyard Harbour) has been working hard with his trainer Samyi! He has been working on the barrel pattern and getting him to bend and relax his neck. This upcoming week they will work on slowing his cute trot down to a jog. Check out his previous update here.
